THE TEMAE (MOOREA) COASTLINE IN 1955 AND TODAY

Land use in Temae has evolved significantly between 1955 and today. An aerodrome was built in 1967, installed on a marshy area and on the sandy rim. Tourist infrastructures have been developed there: a golf course around Lake Temae and a hotel with overwater bungalows on the beautiful beach of Temae. Finally, the area of coconut groves has diminished in favor of residential urbanization, which can also be found along the ring road and on certain slopes.
